Special Dietary Needs / Dietary Requests
For North America:
Dietary information
Princess provides a variety of standard and special order items to meet your special dietary requirements. Once onboard, we encourage you to contact the Maitre d'Hotel to discuss your dietary restrictions and assist you with menu selections suitable for your needs. You may view menus in advance of each meal in order to plan ahead. It is at your discretion to order meals that suit your special diet. If traveling with children, please ensure to advise the Maitre d'Hotel if your child has any special dietary needs/restrictions and plans on visiting our Children's Center onboard to be sure that special luncheons or dinners for the children are prepared accordingly.
To best accommodate special dietary requests onboard, we recommend you take your meals in the main dining rooms and alternative restaurants. On selected port days when the main dining rooms are closed for lunch, every effort will be made to accommodate your needs in the buffet restaurant. We ask that you speak with the Maitre d'Hotel the evening prior to discuss your meal requirements and any special preparation for the following day. When arriving at the buffet, please request to speak to a Supervisor, who will coordinate any special preparations directly with the chef.
Please be aware that the staff who provide room service or bar service cannot identify the food contents. This is especially true of sauces, seasonings and spices that may be used. Although we strive to source the freshest ingredients available, note that some of the meals prepared onboard may use prepackaged goods, which could contain some of the elements you may not wish to consume. Should you have any questions regarding the preparation or ingredients, your Head Waiter or Maitre d'Hotel will be able to assist you with this information.
For your safety, any food/drink items you wish to bring onboard must be non-perishable, must not have reached expiration date before the cruise ends, store bought and sealed in their original containers and packaging upon boarding. Any items brought onboard must be stored in the stateroom and we cannot assign crew members to assist with the preparation. No meats, homemade food or restaurant food will be allowed. Although we may allow certain items onboard, local port authorities may override any approvals we give. Once onboard, due to local agricultural regulations, food items may not be taken ashore.
Cruisetours and land packages do not provide accommodations for special dietary requests as meals are provided primarily by the restaurants within the lodges and hotels. You will need to select your meals from the menus available.
Special Dietary Requirements
Please note: When a guest makes a dietary request via the Cruise Personalizer, it triggers an email to the Dietary department. The guest does not need to also send a request to the Dietary department in writing. If the Dietary department needs additional information, they will contact the guest directly.
Vegetarian
Vegetarian items are designated on our dining room menus with a 'V' and vegetarian selections are featured in all dining locations, including the buffet. Although we do not offer a vegan menu, some vegetarian selections may be suitable to your requirements. Certain menu items, but not all, may be modified to accommodate your diet. Tofu, egg-free pasta and vegetarian burgers are available onboard and can be prepared in a variety of styles. Please liaise with your Head Waiter or the Maitre d' Hotel upon boarding to confirm suitable selections.
Low Salt / Low Sodium / Low Cholesterol / Low Fat

To request Kosher meals be provided for you onboard, simply select this item on the Cruise Personalizer under Dietary Requests. The Kosher meals we provide onboard our ships are Glatt Kosher, prepackaged, frozen entrees wrapped in cello, which we warm and serve in the original packaging. Due to Kosher meals being prepackaged, we cannot guarantee the salt, seasoning, and spice level of the meals. Kosher meals are available for lunch and dinner. For breakfast, we offer boxed cereals.
Once onboard, your headwaiter will advise you of the available selections. For your reference, following is a sample of offerings: Beef Jardiniere, Vegetarian Stuffed Cabbage, Goulash, Chop Suey with Egg Roll, Pot Roast, Vegetarian Chili, Roast Turkey, Italian Pasta with Tomato, Roast Chicken, Moroccan Couscous, Roast Brisket, Fillet of Sole with Lemon, Braised Veal in Mushroom Sauce, Boiled Chicken, Salisbury Steak.

We are unable to provide you with a menu of available offerings on your specific cruise as this is subject to change depending on availability. Note that we do not carry specialty Kosher foods that are low sodium or sodium-free, low-fat or fat-free, nor Kosher items including milk, snacks, bakery goods, meats, etc. Further, we do not allow guests to bring onboard their own Kosher food/meats as we do not have the facilities onboard which are conducive to kosher policy to store any foods brought onboard and/or prepare fresh Kosher meals.
