Important Information About Booking Minors
General Age Guidelines
- Due to limited medical facilities on the ships we will not accept reservations for infants 6 months or younger for non-Transocean sailings and 12 months or younger for Transocean sailings at the time travel commences.
- Guests under 21 years of age (at the time travel commences) must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or chaperone who is at least 21 years old. One adult chaperone is required for every five people under the age of 21. Alcoholic beverages will not be served to guests under 21
- Guests under the age of 18 (at the time travel commences) must be accompanied, in the same suite, by an adult chaperone.
- Parents, guardians, and chaperones are responsible for over-seeing the conduct of minors in their care. As such, minors may not be left unsupervised onboard the ship.
- Minors under age 18 (at the time travel commences) traveling to certain foreign countries must be accompanied by both parents, or have a notarized letter of consent signed by the parent(s) not traveling. For more information, please contact the Consulates or Embassies for the countries that will be visited during the cruise. If the other parent is deceased or the child has only one legal parent, a notarized statement must be obtained as proof. The child must also travel with all proper identification requirements along with the signed letter of authorization.
- All children who are US citizens should have a certified copy of their birth certificate or baptism record for identification. Children over the age of 14 are also required to have photo id.
PLEASE NOTE: In an effort to prevent international child abduction, many governments have initiated procedures at entry and exit points. These often include requiring documentary evidence of relationships and permission for the child’s travel from the parent or legal guardian if not present. Having such documentation on hand, even if not required, may facilitate entry or departure. For specific information regarding the country you are traveling to, please visit http://travelsite.gov for country by country information.
